At Paperplane Labs ("we", "us", or "our"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

Terms of Service

1. Services

Paperplane Labs provides custom software development services, including but not limited to web applications, mobile applications, API integrations, and digital dashboards.

2. Intellectual Property (IP) & Ownership

Unlike SaaS providers, we operate on a "Work made for hire" basis. Upon full payment of all fees associated with a project:

  • You own the code: The client is granted full ownership of the custom source code developed.
  • You own the data: You retain full rights to your database and customer data.
  • No Vendor Lock-in: We deliver the source code to you, allowing you to host it on your own servers or move to another development team in the future.

Note: We retain the right to reuse generic code libraries or snippets that do not contain your proprietary business logic or branding.

3. Payments

Project fees are typically structured with a deposit (mobilization fee) required to begin work, followed by milestone-based payments. Specific payment schedules will be outlined in your official Project Proposal.

4. Warranty & Support

We provide a 30-day warranty period following the launch of your software to fix any bugs or errors at no additional cost. Maintenance requested after this period will be billed according to our standard hourly rates or a maintenance retainer.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Paperplane Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of our services.

6. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
